Recreation
Students at Bartholomews generally enjoy their time at the College, and gain more from the experience than just good examination results.
A students' common room is provided on the premises with a radio and CD player, television and video. This is a convenient place for students to meet socially, to take a packed lunch or to pass the time between tutorials.
Social events take place regularly throughout the year and are organised by Sara Yaxley with the assistance of the Head Boy and Girl. Previous socials have included activities such as paintballing, beach barbeques and film nights, as well as bowling, pool and tennis competitions. Twice at year, at Christmas and the end of Summer Term, students are invited to a pizza evening at a local restaurant. There are two reasonably priced health & fitness clubs nearby and arrangments can also be made for students to join one of the many diverse local sports clubs. Although there is no compulsion to become involved in any extra-curricular activities, students are encouraged to mix and to attend the functions open to them.
